Khasanova was foaled on May 31, 1989. Bred by Carol A. Silverberg of California, he closely replicates the look and personality of his superhorse sire. As a weanling Khasanova was shipped to northern Alabama, where he was known as "Bucky" in the barn of his new owner. Khasanova showed in halter and was Reserve Champion as a two year old at the Music City Show in Shelbyville, Tennessee. He came to Thomas Stables the following spring and was purchased by his present proud owner, Melinda Musick of Brownsboro, Alabama. As a four year-old he showed to Grand Champion Halter at the Alabama Arabian Show. Because an injury as a foal had left a slight, often unnoticeable turn on one foot, the focus of his career was shifted to performance, where he has excelled, winning many championship titles in Hunter Pleasure Open and Show Hack, including four Top Fives in Regions IX and XII, under the guidance of master trainer and international judge Jack Thomas. December 28, 1996 marked a turning point in his career. For the first time, his owner-beginning rider was assisted onto his back. The rest is still history-in-the-making, but Khas has shown the true greatness of his heart with his forbearance and willingness to tolerate and teach. His gentlemanly behavior has won a large following of appreciative fans throughout the Southeast. His amateur career has also garnered championships in Hunter Pleasure, and in his last appearance at US Nationals he was SemiFinalist in Open Show Hack despite also showing in Amateur Hunter Pleasure. In the last several years his show schedule has been more relaxed, partly due to breeding commitments, but he is also beginning to win titles in Show Hack with his amateur rider. Considered a member of the family, perhaps his most significant role is that of teacher of focus and coach in developing body awareness. Khasanova's first foal crop in 1994 produced halter and performance champions. SD Dahlonega, his first foal, excelled in halter and at 16' has made a successful hunter pleasure horse with an exceptionally sweet temperament. His offspring are being enjoyed in diverse disciplines, from Country English to trail riding, hunter-jumper and dressage. Many of his foals have been perpetual winners in every show they enter, such as multi-champion Star Kommand. All of Khasanova's offspring, whether show string or beloved family friends, reflect the quality, beauty and sound mentality of their sire.
